Week-long action concludes with Madrid clubs catching up
Atlético and Real Madrid caught up with table leader Real Sociedad after the two came up with convincing victories in the third set of matches this week.
Club Atlético de Madrid blanked Real Betis, 3-0, and Real Madrid defeated Elche, 2-1, to receive the full complement of three points for the table. On the other hand, Real Sociedad got bitten by the draw bug, eliciting a 1-1 final score against Athletic Club in a clash of Basque-based clubs.
Meanwhile, another derby that occurred this week is the Derbi de la Comunitat, where Valencia prevailed over Villareal, 2-0.
Finally, the results of the rest of week 12 fixtures are as follows: Sevilla beat Osasuna, 2-0; Getafe tripped Espanyol, 2-1; and Granada shuttered Levante, 3-0. There were several draws as well, as Barcelona and Alavés came out even, 1-1; Cádiz and Mallorca tied with each other, 1-1; and Rayo Vallecano and Celta Vigo finished scoreless.
