La Liga 2023/24 Top scorers
Surprisingly, no prolific strikers are in the highest spot after four opening matches of the Spanish top flight this season.
Real Madrid‘s new gem Jude Bellingham has been in excellent form since his league debut and bagged five goals in four games, with an impressive ratio of 1.25 goal/match.
And not just any goal, the English midfielder scored a late goal and stoppage time winner against Celta Vigo and Getafe, respectively, to linch the Los Blancos’ crucial points.
The 20-year-old scored more than half of his side’s total goals so far (8) and was the key to their perfect run to maintain La Liga’s first place after MD4.
Right below Bellingham is Real Sociedad’s last season MVP: Takefusa Kubo, Real Betis’s talisman Willian Jose da Silva, and Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. The three shared the second place with three goals, but Spanish star Morata achieved the same amount of goals in fewer games (3 goals in 3 games).
- Jude Bellingham (5 goals) – Real Madrid
- Takefusa Kubo (3 goals) – Real Sociedad
- Willian Jose (3 goals) – Real Betis
- Alvaro Morata (3 goals) – Atletico Madrid
- Sergio Arribas (2 goals) – UD Almeria
La Liga standings after MD4
As the 2023/24 season’s first international break ends, top leagues are resuming. Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been off to a stunning start, with four wins in four games to stand firmly at the top.
Meanwhile, Girona are impressing the League, standing second with identical records as third-place Barcelona, but last season’s 10th-place have slightly better goal differences than the reigning champions from Catalan.
Atletico Madrid are sitting at fourth but played one game less, as the League decided to postpone their clash with Sevilla due to severe weather.
Sevilla has been disappointing, losing all three first games and conceding eight goals. José Luis Mendilibar’s side must bounce back when the League resumes to escape from the bottom area this week.
