Youthful Spanish footballer may wind up with Barcelona
Alvaro Gomez may be playing for FC Barcelona as the latest of Spain’s impressive defenders.
The La Liga champions are in “advanced talks” to snag the 14-year-old youthful footballer after the club has been in talks with Real Valladolid. Gomez is an impressive defender who can play center-back or right-back, Spanish outlet Diario AS reported.

The 2009-born sensation could be the latest of Spain’s legendary defenders, who have already had Sergio Ramos, Carles Puyol, and Gerard Pique since 2000. Gomez is the second Real Valladolid prospect since 19-year-old right-back Ivan Fresnada to have been pursued by FC Barcelona in the last two years.
Barcelona currently has a talented young defender in Pau Cubarsi. Gomez has piqued the interest of several Spanish clubs but Barcelona has been more vocal in signing him.

Gui Rick was also a Barcelona target before the footballer is now closing in on joining Flamemgo.
Gomez is expected to play in the Under-19 setup to hone his game further before finalizing the Barcelona deal.
