Valencia Officially Appoints Gattuso Until 2024
Gattuso, 44 has already signed a contract with Valencia. “Bat” will be there until the summer of 2024 by taking the job from Jose Bordalas, who was fired last season. Due to disappointing results which put Valencia only in 9th place in La Liga.
Before Valencia switched to Gattuso who had been out of work since no longer managing Fiorentina last summer. The contract will sign until the summer of 2024.
He parted his ways with Napoli in 2021 after failing to lead the Champions League, having previously coached Simon, Palermo, Pisa, and AC Milan.
During his playing days, Gattuso was a defensive midfielder who was known to play aggressively. He previously won the Serie A title and Champions League with AC Milan. He also made 73 caps for the Italian National Team scoring one goal.
Valencia FC reached an agreement with Gennaro Gattuso, who will be Valencia FC’s first team coach for the next two seasons until June 30, 2024.
However, there was resistance from Valencia fans who were moved by the hashtag #NoToGattuso. Due to his behavior which is considered sexist and racist.
Furthermore, the protests did not stop Valencia stakeholders, Jorge Mendes and Peter Lim from awarding Gattuso a two years contract last Thursday.
