Summer getaway in Phuket given out as prize for lucky La Liga fan at El Clásico Boat Party
La Liga and regional partner M88 Mansion once again delivered a unique experience to football fans in Thailand. They sent FC Barcelona and Real Madrid supporters to an evening cruise of Chao Phraya on March 18 before their respective clubs were set to clash three days later.
During the cruise dubbed as El Clásico Boat Party, a lucky attendee was picked in a raffle for the grand prize of a three-day, two-night stay for two in Phuket. The winner, Suwipawee Lokwit, and one companion would get to enjoy an impromptu vacation to one of Thailand’s premier tourist destinations.
The province of Phuket is made up of smaller islands and islets found around the island with the same name. Its main attraction is its vast coastline and the mountain range that traverses from north to south.
The tropical climate in the island makes it the perfect summer getaway. Beaches scatter the shores, the most prominent being the one in Patong. It is no surprise the population is made up of expatriates as well as local and international tourists.
People can reach the island via plane or bus. Within the island, transit is by songthaew, bus, taxi, van, or ride sharing.
Some of the landmarks found in Phuket include the monument of Thao Thep Kasattri and Thao Sri Sunthon, the Thalang National Museum, and Old Phuket Town. The On On Hotel is where the movie “The Beach” was shot.
Aside from the raffle, there were other games that gave major rewards. On Spin and Win, Wethit Nirunsuk and Khun Thanadon Imyim each took home a dinner cruise. Other prizes on the wheel are jerseys, balls, and camping lights. Maria Ozawa calendars were also handed as consolation items.
There were also minigames via QR code, like the El Clásico Trivia Game and an El Clásico exclusive promo.
About 50 lucky fans, 30 media personnel, and 15 special guests were on board a Sabai Cruise yacht where Nat and James Laliga discuss the rivalry and the upcoming fixture. There was also live music and dinner for everyone to relish.
Everyone aboard was treated to view the capital of Bangkok from a different perspective. They were able to see landmarks and famous sites from the deck of the yacht.
The match on March 21 was Real Madrid and FC Barcelona’s third meeting this season. Back on October 24, Los Blancos prevailed, 2-1. They repeated the result at the Supercopa de España semi-final on January 13, this time with the scoreline of 3-2.
Barcelona exacted revenge on the current table leaders, shutting them out, 4-0, on March 21. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a brace, scoring a goal in each half. Ronald Araújo and Ferran Torres accounted for the other two goals.
This was the Blaugrana’s first victory against their nemeses this decade. Their last conquest of Real Madrid was in March 2019 with a tally of 1-0.
