Bellingham’s game-winner denied

The English superstar received an ejection for disputing the official’s decision at the final whistle.

To recall, Bellingham headed Brahim Diaz’s cross into the net in the ninth minute, which would have been a game-winning goal for Real Madrid.

However, referee Jesús Gil Manzano decided to blow the final whistle as soon as Bellingham went for a game-winner.

The referee’s report claimed Bellingham displayed an “aggressive attitude” and repeatedly shouted, “It’s a f—ing goal.”

“We were annoyed…”

Nonetheless, the controversial call left Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti infuriated.

“There isn’t much to say. Something unprecedented happened,” Ancelotti said in his post-match press conference. “We had possession. The play should stop when Valencia have the ball. It’s unprecedented. It’s never happened to me.”

Ancelotti and the rest of Real Madrid believe Bellingham only appealed to the referee.

“We were annoyed with Bellingham’s red card,” Ancelotti said.

“He didn’t say any insults. He said in English ‘It’s a f—ing goal,’ but he was just saying what we were all thinking. [The referee] allowed play to continue. I think he made a mistake. [Bellingham] was clear in what he said.

“He was quite vehement [in his reaction], but that’s normal after what happened. It wasn’t an insult, not at all.”
