Enrique subs out Mbappe

During PSG’s Ligue 1 match with Rennes, Enrique subbed out the Mbappe in the 65th minute despite trailing 1-0 at home.

Gonçalo Ramos replaced the France captain and scored a penalty in the 97th minute to end the game with both teams square.

The PSG boss said the French club has to prepare for Mbappe’s impending departure.

Enrique explained his decision behind Mbappe’s benching after the 65th minute.

“Sooner or later, when it happens, we have to get used to playing without Kylian,” Enrique said.

“When I want to play him, I will, when I don’t, I won’t.”

Earlier this month, Mbappe informed PSG of his intention to leave when his contract expires this summer.

He reportedly signed with the Los Blancos, per sources from Madrid-based outlet Marca.

There is no official announcement yet from Mbappe’s camp and PSG.

Enrique refused to comment about Mbappe’s situation, until their recent game against Rennes.

“I am going to try to bring this topic to an end. I don’t have any comments to make.”

“The parties involved haven’t yet said anything publicly, Kylian Mbappé hasn’t said anything publicly.

“When both parties speak, I will give my opinion.”

Mbappé has scored 21 goals in 21 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

He netted four goals in seven Champions League games.

PSG will face Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie on March 5, in which they hold a 2-0 lead.
