Diego Simeone is a decorated football player and manager who is currently in charge of Atlético Madrid. He is presently the longest-serving manager among La Liga clubs, as he was hired back in December 2011.
As a player, he saw action in clubs from countries such as Argentina, Italy, and Spain. Among his accolades include winning the domestic double for Atlético in 1996 and for Lazio in 2000. He also won the 1999 UEFA Super Cup and 2000 Supercoppa Italiana.
Simeone had 108 caps for the Argentine men’s seniors football team, representing the country in 1994, 1998, and 2002 FIFA World Cups. He also played in four editions of the Copa América, winning it in 1991 and 1993.
