Atletico Madrid is facing La Liga 2021/22 new king – Real Madrid on the 9th of May, 2022, in a game called El Derbi. It is the battle of the two rivals from the same city, the two biggest clubs of Spain’s capital and the two giants of La Liga. El DERBI – THE BATTLE OF ARCH-ENEMIES
It was the Copa del Rey final in 1903 between Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid that started it all. The Basque won the title, but the treatment from Madrid’s fans did not impress them. As a result, Athletic club members formed a Madrid-based club, under the name Athletic Club de Madrid, then changed to Atletico de Madrid. Slowly, the team formed its own identity and colors, thanks to the joining of several dissident members of Madrid CF in 1905. In February of that year, the two Madrid clubs met for the very first time, the first El Derbi which finished 1-1. But the first league’s El Derbi did not take place until February 1929, Los Blancos triumphed 2-1 as they reeled in the honors during the pre-war years, winning their first two league titles and a Spanish cup.
Since then, more than 200 fixtures have been played between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. Atletico since then has become a force that could challenge the whole of Europe, and most importantly, provide a real challenge to the power in the city.
Atletico de Madrid has been considered one of Real Madri’s biggest rivals, or as the great Ferenc Puskas once stated ‘our great rivals in 1959.

8 men’s teams will be competing in a one-day tournament, 150+ players, and one trophy. The players will wear M88 jerseys which replicate also the home kits and away kits of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid – the Red and White.
This 7-a-side tournament would limit the level of players (max & min of ages, no pros allowed,) to ensure every team and every game will be astonishing, spectacular, but at the same time, come with fair play for all.
