Luka Modric Still With Madrid For Another Year 

Real Madrid has announced a new contract with the midfielder, Luka Modric for another year or until the summer of 2023. This was officially announced on Wednesday, June 8th. The Croatian will also stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for the next 11 months with Florentino Perez, the club’s President as a witness. 

The Croatian will turn 37 this September. Modric has made 436 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid and scored 31 goals. 

On behalf of the Croatian National Team, he played 150  games and scored 21 goals, helping the team to three La Liga Titles, five UEFA Champions League Titles, four Club World titles, Copa Del Rey, and the Percopa de Espana.  

He also won the Ballon d’Or. Golden Ball was named Player of The Year in 2018, leading Croatia to the 2018 FIFA World Cup runners-up after France, beating Lionel Messi and Cristiano. 

He led his homeland to the 2018 World Cup Finals in Russia and won the Ballon d’Or that same year. He also plays an important role, bringing the checkered to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year.
