Sociedad results of La Liga 2022/23 in May
- Real Sociedad 2-0 Real Madrid- Kubo opened the score
- Real sociedad 2-2 girona – Kubo assisted for Silva
- Barcelona 1-2 Sociedad – Kubo subbed in the second half
- Real Sociedad 1-0 Almeria – Kubo scored the only goal
21-year-old Kubo scored the only goal as Sociedad beat Almeria at home and became the youngest Asian player to reach 15 goals in 127 appearances in the history of the Spanish top flight.
However, Kubo’s goal and performance stunned his former club Real Madrid early in May. He opened the scoring just after half-time against his former side.
It was before Sociedad sealed a second big win as they destroyed La Liga champions Barcelona in front of jubilant crowds at Camp Nou turned to silence.
Kubo was subbed in the second half and was an instant threat to the Catalan giant, who had already won the league but was spoiled by the visitors.
La Real’s last success at the famous venue came back in 1991, and the Basque side also ended a barren run of 24 consecutive away league games at the stadium without a win.
