Kepa unhappy in Real Madrid

The 29-year-old Kepa is expected to leave Madrid when his loan ends in June.

Instead, the Spain international will return to his parent club, Chelsea.

Kepa joined Los Blancos from Chelsea this summer on loan to fill the void left by Thibaut Courtois.

However, Kepa fell out of favor after being sidelined for three weeks due to a muscle injury.

Romano said Kepa remains “super respectful” to the giant club and it’s still “a dream for him.”

However, his current situation has left him unhappy, and he “didn’t expect a situation like this to happen”

Romano also said the plan at the Bernabeu is to let him walk, and instead prioritize Andriy Lunin’s contract.

On the other hand, Madrid plan to offer the Ukraine international a contract extension.

Despite returning to Stamford Bridge, Kepa is far from assured of a place in the starting XI.

The arrival of Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion allowed Kepa to head to Madrid.
