The Felix – Barcelona saga

Portuguese forward Joao Felix has been an obvious target that Catalan side Barca want to secure.

Blaugranas president Joan Laporta openly declared his admiration for Felix previously, while the striker is also looking for an exit after the harsh treatment from the fans.

He has also openly stated his desire to move to Barcelona, which possibly caused the distance from the club’s supporters and even his teammates.

The loan deal for Felix is close

According to transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio, a loan deal is imminent, with two clubs closing negotiations.

Gianluca Di Marzio has told SkySports that Barcelona and Atletico are close to doing a deal for Felix to join Barcelona on loan this season.

The fee for the loan is thought to be around €7-8m, with his wages presumably included.

Felix’s wages are expected to exceed €10m per year, meaning Barcelona would be approaching €20m for a season of Felix.

With Felix’s quality, he can bring fresh air to Barca’s attacking lines, especially when Ousmane Dembele has joined Paris Saint-Germain.

His agent Jorge Mendes can play a significant role in fabricating the deal. The Super football dealer Mendes also closely ties with Barcelona, particularly with newly appointed Sporting Director Deco.

No one deal goes unconnected to the next with Mendes, and with the agent keen to move Felix from Atletico, it appears Barcelona are happy to bring him in against their manager’s wishes.
