The 2022 FIFA World Cup is already done and dusted. But that does not mean we cannot turn back the clock and reminisce on past editions of the tournament.
We had Ivan Rakitić, M88 Mansion’s featured player for the 2022-23 LaLiga season, look back on his country’s runner-up finish in 2018.
How does it feel to play in the FIFA World Cup final?
Amazing. Not many players can do it because it is something different. It is the most crucial game for a player can enjoy. I will never forget it. Even [when] we lost this game, this experience was unbelievable.
What is the best goal you scored for your National Team?
The goal against Argentina in the World Cup. Also the penalties in the [round of 16] against Denmark.
What is the most challenging game you have played?
I will try to say it’s the game in the World Cup against Denmark, this first (knockout) game we had a penalty in the 116th minute and Luka didn’t score. After [that] we get to penalties, we won that. It was challenging for us.
