Eder Militao signs extension with Real Madrid until 2028
Eder Militao has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid until 2028, the La Liga club announced the development.
The Brazilian centre-back joined Real Madrid in 2019 from FC Porto and quickly established himself as a solid defender.
“Real Madrid and Eder Militao have agreed to extend their player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2028,” the club said in a statement.
“In his five seasons defending our shirt he has become one of the best centre-backs in the world.”
The 26-year-old has scored 11 goals in 143 appearances with Los Blancos.
Militao also played an instrumental role in Real Madrid’s two La Liga titles and a Champions League.
Overall, Militao has nine trophies on his resume.
He also won the 2019 Copa America and competed in the 2022 World Cup.
“I’m thrilled to have renewed my contract,” Militão said in a video posted on Instagram.
Militao is still recovering from his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that he sustained last August.
