Bellingham suspended

The suspension came after the English star obtained a red card in Madrid’s controversial 2-2 draw at Valencia.

Bellingham argued with referee Jesús Gil Manzano, who blew the final whistle moments before he scored a potential game-winning header.

Bellingham displayed an “aggressive attitude”, and allegedly shouted “It’s a f—ing goal” to the official.

Real Madrid appealed against Bellingham’s red card.

However, the federation’s disciplinary committee dismissed the club’s complaint, saying they had not proven their case beyond doubt based on the evidence presented.

Bellingham will miss upcoming La Liga games against Celta Vigo and Osasuna.

“I accept responsibility…”

He spoke to the press after Madrid beat RB Leipzig 2-1 on aggregate to reach the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday.

“I don’t know if I can say too much about it, I’ve got investigations, bans and appeals up to my eyeballs!” Bellingham said.

“I don’t really know what to say but I’d like to think that maybe the club can appeal it and get it shortened. But if not, I accept responsibility for my actions and I’ll have to support the team from the stands. But I’d like to think there’d be a bit of common sense used.”
