Barcelona announced Jules Kounde
Jules Kounde is the latest transfer made by Barcelona this summer transfer window.
Barcelona has officiall announced their latest signing, as Jules Kounde joined the Catalan club from Sevilla with the price reportedly came around €55M.
The LaLiga’s club has been having one of the best transfer windows of all time. So far in Sumer 2022, Barca has announced blockbusters signings as the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, and now is Kounde.
Koundé first words as new Barcelona player: “I’m really proud, grateful. I can’t wait to join the team and start this Barcelona story”.
“I say thanks to Sevilla, but of course Barça is a top step in my career – so here I wanna win all competitions”.
This announcement put an end to the thought-to-be endless saga about the French defender.
Chelsea was the club expectedly to sign Kounde, however, Barca successfully hijacked the deal right in front of the English rival.
The London club even placed a bid for Sevilla to buy Kounde, which weighed more and ahead of Barca. According to the trusted transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s bid was £55m, and it was in line with Sevilla expectations.
It was only a couple of days before Barca joined and successfully convinced both Sevilla and Kounde.
The former Bordeaux star and graduate, at the height of 1,78m, reminds Barca fans of the leader Carles Puyol.
At only 23 years old, what Kounde can offer for Barca’s defense not only the presence, but also the future ahead.
With Ronald Araujo and now Kounde, Blaugranas may see the perfect replacements for Puyol and Pique, which time would tell.
Interestingly, Kounde now joined the list of defenders who joined Barca from Seville club. His predecessors are Clement Lenglet (who now joined Tottenham Hotspur) and the legendary Dani Alves.
