2022-23 LaLiga featured match preview week 20: Real Sociedad vs Valladolid
For matchday 20 of the 2022-23 LaLiga season, we wil put the spotlight on the hottest team in the league right now, not Barcelona. This weekend, Real Sociedad go up against Valladolid at the Reale Arena in San Sebastián.
La Real have not suffered a league loss since October 31 last year. From then, they have compiled 17 out of a possible 21 points. Their five-match winning streak was stopped last week by Real Madrid, a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Valladolid, on the other hand, ended their losing spell the previous weekend after they defeated Valencia, 1-0. Prior to that, their last victory was back in November versus Elche.
Erreala currently stand at third on the table, three points behind Madrid. The latter, though, has a match on hand and would have a busy weekend ahead with two matches spanning three days.
Meanwhile, the Albivioletas are in danger of getting relegated with only 20 points to their name. They presently have only six wins. One of those though was a 1-0 conquest of Reale in October.
Brais Méndez leads the Real Sociedad with seven LaLiga goals this season. However, it has been Alexander Sørloth who has been lighting the scoreboard as of late, scoring all of his five league conversions during the club’s winning run.
