Whatever it takes

The Atlético’s all-time leading scorer will suit up for the French national team in Euro 2024.

Griezmann said he will do whatever it takes to play for France on home soil.

“I will do everything to participate in the Paris Games,” Griezmann said on Le Monde. “Having the Games in Paris is something exceptional.”

As per Olympic rules, the quads are based on under-23 players but can include three members above that age.

Griezmann will turn 33 in March.

The French striker assured that playing in back-to-back international competitions will not affect his physical health.

“I know my body,” he said. “We have top-level physios, and there is no reason to worry.”

“I will speak to the [Atlético] management in due time, to see if they will let me go.”

Face to face with Mbappe

Meanwhile, Griezmann shared his thoughts on the possibility of France teammate Kylian Mbappe playing in La Liga next season.

Mbappe informed Paris Saint-Germain he will not renew his contract with the club.

The 25-year-old has reportedly signed with Real Madrid, according to Madrid-based outlet Marca.

Nonetheless, Griezmann is looking forward to seeing Mbappe in the Madrid derby.

“He [Mbappé] will get a good reception in Spain, and I will be happy to play in the Madrid derby against him,” Griezmann said.
