El Clásico tournament in Yogyakarta
La Liga fans participate in the friendly El Clásico tournament in Yogyakarta.
Fans of Spanish football clubs Real Madrid and FC Barcelona got to live their dreams. Together with celebrities and influencers, they played in a casual one-night seven-a-side tournament at Maguwoharjo Football Park in Yogyakarta as part of El Clásico Journey.

Wearing jerseys of their respective favorite teams, the competitors were grouped into two sets of Real Madrid and Barcelona squads. Real Madrid Team A wore Los Blancos’ third kit, while Real Madrid Team B suited up with the home kit. Barcelona Team A donned the classic colors and Barcelona Team B opted for the alternate purple shirts.
Real Madrid Team A, bannered by Azka Fauzi, fought Barcelona Team B, headlined by captain Nugroho Fatchur Rochman, in the final. In the end, it was the latter that prevailed, 2-0.
As a side note, the actual match on March 21 that was held at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu had Barça coming out on top, 4-0.
This friendly tournament was one of several activities that encompass the El Clásico Journey. Other projects included a scavenger hunt-type challenge around major locations in Java, as well as a live viewing party in Bali.
It was a literal journey as proceedings were spread around the country. Doing this also made sure they were enjoyed by a variety of people, maximizing the reach that La Liga would have, and the exposure event sponsor M88 Mansion would receive.
Despite only having a population of less than 400,000, Yogyakarta is a key city in Indonesia. It is considered the center of Javanese fine arts and culture and was the former capital of the country. Located in northwest Java, it is about 425 kilometers away from the current capital Jakarta.
